Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) alleges that 21 Savage is a British national who overstayed his visa and has been living illegally in the US for some time, while his attorneys argue it’s unjustified. Recently released birth certificate information indicated Sheyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph was born on 22 October 1992.

He was detained by ICE

ICE arrest of rapper has caused shockwaves through the music industry. He is well-known among locals in Atlanta for living there for years and supporting their community; most notably through providing school supplies to thousands of children in Dekalb County through his foundation – making him an iconic figure within this city.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested the rapper known by his real name of Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph during a “targeted operation” early Sunday in metro Atlanta. They believe he hails from England but has been living illegally in America for more than 10 years; part of their reason for arresting him included having received a drug conviction in 2014.

His attorneys believe their client has been mistreated and detained against his will, violating his constitutional rights. They filed a request to terminate the case but it remains uncertain if it will be granted.

He was deported

21 Savage seems to have overstayed his visa, resulting in him possibly being banned from returning home for 10 years. A video posted to Instagram shows the rapper declaring, “London… I’m coming home.”

Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph was born and raised in Atlanta from an early age, where his family has long resided. Though he claims he is naturalized citizen, according to his lawyers he actually submitted a U visa application in 2017.
