Billy Joel and Rod Stewart Will Be Seen Together at Cleveland Browns Stadium for the First Time Ever
Billy Joel and Rod Stewart will come together for one unforgettable show this September at Cleveland Browns Stadium, marking the first time both Hall-of-Famers will take to one stage together. According to USA Today, Live Nation Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sponsorship Sales Barry Gabel described it as an “historically monumental event”, adding that tickets would “explode out of the box”. Gabel predicted a quick sellout.
On a recent night at Madison Square Garden, The Piano Man appeared in good spirits. Sipping from a plastic cup, he socialized with his production designer and lighting director backstage before hitting the stage for sound check. Talking with them backstage about his children (three in total) as well as opening gigs from years past (“I used to take Valium before going onstage but the doctor told me not to”), he seemed truly amazed that his show could fill such a large arena.
At his performance, he paid homage to Jeff Beck by covering two of his songs. With his band in tow, an impromptu jam session ensued featuring “Going Down,” written by Don Nix and covered by The Jeff Beck Group on their 1972 self-titled third album; as well as Curtis Mayfield’s “Miami 2017.”
Seemingly, veteran singer-songwriter Ben Folds has taken to sharing co-headlining gigs with fellow rock luminaries recently. Already, Sting and Stevie Nicks have confirmed some 2024 dates with Folds set to co-headline alongside them; plus he will release his first original track in 16 years next month!
As part of his tour with Rod Stewart, Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famer Bruce Springsteen will also perform two additional concerts this summer at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium and Petco Park in San Diego. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, Feb 2; Citi ticket presales begin Monday Jan 29. For more information visit their tour’s website; tickets may also be purchased through Ticketmaster and StubHub; respectively offering 100% money-back guarantees through FanProtect programs.
